Adopting from Regional Animal Shelter is an easy process which will help you find the dog that is perfect for you and your family. It involves finding out a little about you and your home, visiting with the dogs and talking with one of the animal shelter professionals. After you have met and decided which amazing animal you would like to adopt, we will ask that you fill out an application. Applications are available at the shelter; they must be completed in full and returned to the shelter office. If you are unable to make it to the shelter, please contact us and we will send you an application.

From there you can expect:.

  • You will be called for an interview and a home visit will be scheduled at that time.
  • If you currently own other pets you will also need to schedule a meet and greet between the animals. This will ensure that your family members will all get along with your new addition and can be done at the shelter if preferred.
  • You must have proof of vaccination before your dog can be let into the shelter’s yard or if we meet at your home and/or at a neutral location.

The animal adoption fee is $195 for dogs. The animal adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, microchipping, heart worm testing, Rabies vaccination, 5-in-1 vaccination (against canine distemper, canine hepatitis, adenovirus cough (kennel cough), parainfluenza, and parvovirus), Lyme vaccination, nail trim and flea treatment (if necessary). Payment can be made by cash or check only and is due prior to or at the time of adoption.

Chance is a sweet little guy that was dumped by his owner. He is a little timid at first but warms up quickly. He loves to be held. He knows how to sit pretty and dance. He lived with other small dogs. We are unsure how he is with cats. He is housebroken. Please stop in to meet this sweet boy and give him the loving stable home he always deserved!

Grim is very confused. He was brought to the shelter but his brother stayed at home. He has had the same family all his life and now suddenly they are gone! He wonders what he did wrong? Why doesn't his family love him anymore? Truth is Grim did not do anything wrong. He was brought to the shelter after his parents had a disagreement. He previouslylived with children and another dog. He is 5 years old, neutered, microchipped and has all of his shots. He really needs a quiet home with no yelling and screaming. He needs a home with no cats and we think he would prefer a home with no other dogs. Please stop in to meet Grimmie as we call him and show him that he is worthy of a loving forever home!

  • Spayed/Neutered
Kobe was brought to our shelter after Animal Control removed him and his sister from horrible living conditions. Unfortunately his sister did not survive and left poor Kobe alone. Kobe is very confused and really wants a home of his own with a soft bed and clean water and lots of love. He should be the only dog to start off and perhaps the addition of another dog down the line would be okay. He is unsure around kids and seems easily frightened of their fast movements. He loves to play and loves belly rubs even more. Please show Kobe that not all humans are bad and give him the second chance he deserves.

Charlie is a sweet boy with a long history for such a young pup at only 18 mos old. He is neutered and microchipped and has all his shots. He would do best at the only pet in the home. He is an absolute sweetheart and craves attention. Stop in to meet this handsome fella!

Nathan was found in a local park. It took a week of tracking him before we could trap him. We are pretty confident he was dumped there. He was very timid with people at first and afraid of everything. He has since come around and is a total love! He seems to be afraid of children so a home with kids would not be suitable. He does seem to like other dogs . Nathan is neutered, chipped and has his shots. He is a Bone Mouth Shar Pei mix.

Say hello to Zeke. Zeke was beaten severely as a puppy and it caused him to become unsure of new situations or people. He has completed rehab training at Natural Dog Training in Vermont. He has learned to trust humans again and learned to process stress. We are looking for a family that is willing to continue with his training while at home and will keep him safe. We are working in conjunction with Paw It Forward LLC and Kevin Behan of NDT to ensure that Zeke will have the home he deserves. We promised Zeke no one would ever hurt him again! Please consider opening your home to our boy Zeke. Zeke is current on all shots and is neutered, housebroken, and micro-chipped.

Pilot is a special boy looking for a special home! Pilot spent his life being passed around from home to home and never given any real love, until he came to the shelter on 3/14/2014. He needs a family that will be patient with him and work to show him how to bond with a human. He needs to be the only dog with no children, and a calm, stable household. His family should have knowledge of the breed and large dog experience. He loves to go for walks and play but is really mellow and like to lay on his bed and relax. He loves to kiss the faces of those he loves and trusts. He knows his commands and is very treat motivated. He recently received his Canine Good Citizen certificate! Pilot is up to date on all shots and is neutered, micro-chipped, and housebroken.
